Aftercare Guide

Proper aftercare is essential to the healing of your permanent makeup and must be followed carefully.

Important: This is a 2-stage treatment. Your treatment is not complete until you have attended both sessions, where we can assess the results together.

Your second session should be scheduled within 6-12 weeks. Any treatments after this timeframe are considered additional treatments and will be charged accordingly.

Permanent makeup results can vary depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and overall health. If you pick or scratch the treated area, you will lose colour and may require an additional treatment at your own expense.

The Healing Journey

Understanding what to expect during the healing process

Day 1

"I'm in love with my new look!"

Your brows or lips will look bold and beautiful. Enjoy this moment!

Days 2-4

"The colour seems too dark"

This is completely normal. The colour will appear darker and more prominent than the final result.

Days 5-7

"They're scabbing and flaking"

The treated area will begin to flake and shed. Do not pick or scratch!

Days 8-10

"Where did they go?!"

The colour may appear very light or even gone. Don't worry—this is temporary!

Days 14-28

"They're back but still patchy"

The colour returns but may look uneven. This is why we have a follow-up appointment!

Day 42+

"After my top-up—perfection!"

After your second session, you'll have the beautiful, lasting results you've been waiting for!

What to Expect During Healing

  • •As soon as your procedure is finished, your body will begin to heal. The skin will close, and you may see a thin crust which protects the area whilst the skin heals.
  • •Once the crust naturally falls off, the pigment will be revealed in a lighter form than the initially implanted colour.
  • •The colour will continue to develop and settle for 4-6 weeks. Lip treatments can take up to 3 months to fully heal.
  • •You may notice areas of lighter colour or patches with no colour at all. This is a normal part of the healing process and why we include a follow-up appointment as part of your treatment.

Immediately After Your Procedure

•You may notice whiteness or blanching in the treated area. This is normal and should subside within a few hours.
•Some swelling may occur. This is normal and should subside within a couple of days.
•In some cases, you may notice slight bruising, which should last no longer than a week.
•Remember, your colour will appear darker and more prominent than the healed result for 5-7 days.
⚠️Please avoid getting your brows wet for 14 days after your treatment. Avoid swimming, saunas, and heavy exercise until the area has completely healed.

Brow Aftercare

•For the first 3 days, gently cleanse the brows 3 times daily. Wet a cotton pad with clean water and wipe the brows 2-3 times. A yellow staining on the cotton pad is completely normal.
•You may gently pat Savlon into the skin if desired—do not rub. Use sparingly.
❌DO NOT PICK ANY SCABS. Picking will cause colour loss and may require additional treatment at your expense.
•Do not tweeze or wax for at least one week. Avoid waxing and threading for at least two weeks.
•Do not apply makeup to the treated area until fully healed.

Lip Aftercare

•Two hours after your procedure, gently wet the lips with a damp cotton pad.
•Avoid hot, spicy, or salty foods for 2-3 days.
•Avoid hot drinks for 2-3 days following your treatment. Opt for lukewarm or cool beverages instead to prevent irritation.
•I recommend using a straw after the procedure to minimise contact with the treated area.
•You can apply the healing balm provided (don't use any other products) as needed. Apply a thin layer to keep lips moisturised.
•Lips will be fully healed in approximately 7 days after the procedure.

Skincare Considerations

•Skincare products containing AHAs, retinoids, or acids should not be used near or directly over the treated area.
•Using these products not only compromises the skin during the tattooing process, but also reduces the longevity of your permanent makeup colour.
ℹ️Please be aware you cannot donate blood for 6 months after having a permanent makeup treatment.
